June 7, 1999Well, yesterday afternoon I received the final playtest comments from Steve Jackson Games on Tile Chess and was given a month to incorporate them into the rulebook. Unfortunately, I'm leaving for the Clarion workshop in four days, so I did it all last night. Aargh! Also finished ghost-writing the Tile Chess Designer's notes, for which I am now getting co-author credit. My tally: Three thousand words, and almost one thousand anti-words...But it's all been accepted and now I'm done with the whole stupid project. Anyone want to open a bottle of virtual Champagne with me? Now all that remains is to get the office project done, and finish getting packed. Will I ever be ready for Clarion? Yeah, I will. I already have everything I need: I'm intelligent and I'm dedicated. I'm going to make it. You know, I just realized something that is very, very cool. When I applied to Clarion, I had no publication credits. Now I have three. All good things come to those who push for them. :-) Also, got another check-up. Everything is going cool with the pregnancy. The doctor tells me that I should be entering the "cruise" section of pregnancy, when everything proceeds on auto-pilot and there are no real problems. I think he's right. I feel absolutely great. Hey, my timing on this was not so bad after all. Hmm |
