Stress

I should not miss sleep. Ignoring this rule has dire & immediate consequences now that I'm pregnant. However, everyone else has been living on two or three hours of sleep, and I was facing a looming story deadline, so I thought that I would stay up until I finished my story. Big mistake.

I exhausted myself last night finishing the rough draft, and woke up this morning ill. I threw up several times, and had chills and a headache throughout our early morning critiquing session. After the session was over, I slept through most of the afternoon and woke up again at 10:00pm. Now that I'm wide awake again, though, I might as well fix all those plot problems I noticed in my rough draft... Wonder when I'll get to sleep again. My internal clock is completely off.

Random Notes From My Message Board

When I locked myself in my room last night to get my story done, I posted regular updates of my progress on my door.

Posted by me:
8:30pm -- Two more scenes done!
9:30pm -- Another two scenes done, and I've almost killed the damn snake!
Midnight -- I have a really, really crappy rough draft. Ugh.

The parallel constructions in your first two lines do not work.
Also, you use too many colloquialisms. Perhaps you should examine your diction?

Hmm
