Infectious Memes
December 12, 2000
Melanie Miller Fletcher, the big cheese of the Web Rats, invited me to join their merry little band. And then she flattered me by telling me that it was my journal that made her start journaling on the web 18 months ago!
Since I wrote rather self-centered entries on "stealth vomits" and leakiness, I didn't think that my journal would be of interest to anyone but, well, me. I'm honored to discover otherwise.
This isn't the first time that I have been accused of spreading infectious memes, either. Trey, Aynjel and Paula all blamed me for giving them the Clarion bug. I would ask C-East for kickbacks, but I was only passing along an infection that I got from the great Diana Rowland, Queen of Web Journalists.
Since I will soon be a Web Rat, let me wish my fellow rats Benjamin, Samantha and Karina good luck on their Clarion applications! You guys are making me nostalgic. May acceptance to the workshop of your choice come your way, and may you make the most of it!
And be sure to pass the memes along!
