This listing is for journals written while at Clarion.
I have pruned any journals that no longer have their Clarion experiences archived.
- Slithy Tove at Clarion
- Sorry, I don't have a cool blurb for this writer, but Slithy Tove does post on a
regular basis.
- Drk Shadow's Journal
- Another Clarion journal. (A better blurb coming soon!)
- Demon Haunted
- Yeah, yeah. It needs a blurb. If you have suggestions, write me!
- Chance
- Cathy Morrison is a former naval engineer whose motto is "Fiction
gives us the second chance that life denies." Her website includes
links to some stories of her classmates, and makes nice use of images, too.
- Dogmatix's Journal
- The reading & writing journal of Ryan Butkus. (Clarion entries can be found
by viewing 2003 entries in Calendar.)
- Tales of Jonathan
- Jonathan Laden's weblog -- Find out why "a little dab'll do ya".
-
Stephanie Dray
- Fun political commentary from a communications lawyer, teacher and
freelance editor.
- Tammy Inman
- Touching reflections on faith and writing from a former missionary and
school teacher. (Dig through Calendar for Clarion entries.)
- Rodent Ramblings
- Assorted thoughts from Chipmunk (aka Jamie Kress), a 24 year old pagan who
may have a slight confusion about her species.
- Ben's Weblog
- Ben Kuo. Sanity not required.
- To Dare Or Not To Dare
- Humorous reflections from Marsha Sisolak, writer and mother of teenagers.
- This Land Is My Land
- Viva Italia! The journal of a professional fiction translator who
hails from Padua, Italy.
- Tempest
- Finley T. Larkin, mythopoet, fluid artist, and coiner of other entertaining catch phrases.
Worth looking at for the reviews and funky graphics alone.
- Of Two Minds: A Composition Book
- Thoughtful essays from Eliani Torres, professional copy editor and passionate advocate of the
written word.
- 2002 Clarion Call
- The official website for the Clarion East Class of 2002. Very Well organized and
includes links to different Clarion web journals, and tells you how
recently they updated! I especially recommend the journal of Trent Walters.
There were also three c-east journals that were independent of the main site:
Sorry, there were too many C-East journals
that year to blurb them all. If you want to know what they're
about, read them! -- Hmm
- Blue Jack
- My personal favorite of the 2002 web journals. Nice use of graphics,
and worth visiting for the magazine reviews alone.
- Philip Brewer's Writing Progress
- Philip chronicled his Clarion adventures daily, and even included a page on
Clarion expenses. Recommended.
- Spontaneous Things
- Canadian Karina Sumner-Smith's elegant and understated journal.
- Ling the Merciless
- Samantha Ling's acerbic and witty journal -- Worth a visit for the artwork and photos alone.
Sam also hosts the official website for the
Clarion West 2001 Class, with
profiles and bibliographies of her classmates.
- Another Poor Literary Fly Twitching in the Web
- Can you bring your baby with you to Clarion? Ben Rosenbaum
did, for a third of his time there. Although this journal contains only four entries written about Clarion West, each
is so achingly beautiful that it would be a shame not to read them.
- Allan Rousselle's Place
- Updated near daily, Allan's journal was the definitive record for the Clarion West class of 2001. Recommended.
-
David D. Levine
- What can I say? Great links, pictures and a map of the dorm.

- The challenge is in the journey. Follow Linda to see how she makes it. Includes a page on Clarion expenses!
- Paula Fleming's Mail Daze
- Mild-mannered consultant by day, wild-eyed writer by night, friend of canines at all times. Don't forget to check out the novel-o-meter and the Department of Shameless Self-Promotion!
- Derek James, Submitted for your Approval
-
Join Derek for his Clarion countdown!
- Hey Trey!
- Thought-provoking and thorough observations from Trey Thoelcke: father, writer and all-around great guy.
- The Digital Delusions of Stacey Wenkel
- True confessions of a self-proclaimed "tall, combative, sometimes intimidating, pagan, fluff goddess and bi, poly, pervert, perky goff."
- The Adventures of SF Writer Jenn Reese
- Revised and on a new site.
- Hilary Moon Murphy
- Reading her journal will answer the question, "Can pregnancy and Clarion be combined?" Also, the author of this site and some useful Q&A on Daily Life at the Clarion Workshop. Make her deliriously happy and read her online journal.
- Diana Rowland's Sorta-Daily Rag
- Warning: reading this journal is addictive. Diana attended Clarion West in 1998, and her daily descriptions of life at the workshop are both witty and detailed. Highly recommended.
- Chiara Shah's Journal
- For another viewpoint on the daily experience of Clarion West in 1998. Great photos.
- Ruth Nestvold
- While not strictly an online journal, these reports were written
while Ruth was at Clarion West.
Class of 1997
- C.J. Silverio's Journal
- Another highly recommended journal. C.J. Silverio attended Clarion West in 1997.
- Mary Anne Mohanraj's Journal
- For another view of Clarion West in 1997.
