Random Statistics

William Duncan Murphy (Yes, we're calling him by his middle name) made his initial appearance into this world at 1:16 in the morning of February 12. Andy claims that this makes him the first Murphy ever to arrive early for anything.

Duncan weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz., and had an overall length of 20 inches. His head circumference is 13 ½ inches, and his chest is 13 inches. His APGAR Score (Activity, Pulse, Grimace, Appearance, Respiration) was a 8 at one minute, and a 9 at five minutes. Anything over a 7 is considered normal, and 10 is the maximum.

Statistics aside, he's been a wonderful baby so far -- content, alert and healthy. He's had all of his alert time during daylight hours, which makes both Mom and Dad feel a little less sleep deprived this time around.

All of us (Hilary, Andy, and Cassie) have been very happy to have him join our family.
