Mood: depressed, mainly due to tiredness and this stupid stiff neck
I need to readjust my pillows (and fluff them up a bit) tonight -- I'm hoping that'll help with this damn neckache. Maybe it'll even make the gagging sensation in front go away, as well -- that would be lovely.
Oh, and the Raisin Bran is definitely moving stuff along, whether my lower GI tract is ready for it or not. Ouch. But hey, at least it's coming out, which is a goodness.
And I've been a good girl on the exercise front -- just came up from the basement where I'd danced for 40 minutes. Finally started getting sick when I was doing spins, so I stopped a little early.
So why the depression? Maybe because it's been so cloudy for the last few days (although we're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight, so that should be fun). Hopefully it'll be over once I get a decent night's sleep.

Mood: irritated at this stiff neck
Water retention week is in full flow (ahem) -- however, I feel better now that it's finally underway, and considering that I didn't exercise at all this weekend due to getting sick on Friday and spending the rest of the two days running around like a maniac, I'm feeling rather good about it all.
One thing I noticed with Atkins is that I tend to get constipated more easily, so I've started having a bowl of Raisin Bran every morning for breakfast. It probably makes up 75% of my daily carb intake, but to be honest it also keeps everything moving through my system and my cholesterol nice and low, so I'll deal with the carb bulking in return for the good fringe benefits.
OH! I also learned about a neato low-carb recipe for hot cocoa over the weekend -- get a big cup, add two spoonfuls of cocoa powder (NOT Nestle's Quik -- real, unsweetened cocoa powder) and two spoonfuls of Splenda, fill halfway with hot water, whisk to dissolve the cocoa powder, add a pinch of salt, fill the rest of the way with cream or half and half, and enjoy. I added a splash of Cointreau for that lovely orange taste (I was also freaking cold and tired from tramping around the Women's Museum all afternoon) -- probably not approved on the Atkins plan, but it was goooooood.
