Lifting weights is a wonderful thing. It strengthens your muscles, increases your metabolism, helps prevent osteoporosis, and gives you lovely definition. It also provides you with a marvelous outlet for the red-misted rage you feel after someone's used an unequal power balance to tear highly undeserved strips off you for a solid hour.
Yesterday...was not a good day. Today was slightly better, in that I received numerous expressions of sympathy and a lovely salmon lunch, but there's still a need for some good old-fashioned Eastern European vengeance lingering in my system (this was not helped by an attempt to "smooth things over" that had the feel of "Baby, why do you make me hit you?" topped off with an outright insult to my intelligence). Since the guilty party is quite frankly not worth the jail time, I shall repair to the weight room instead and do bench presses (and yes, I'm aware that if I DID do jail time I could devote a great deal of attention to weightlifting. Somehow, it's not an attractive tradeoff).
