Cybrids
Bio-mechanical creatures, designed to mimic the natural fauna of a given world. Cybrids are a relic of early experiments with the reproductive technology used by the dragon-born, blending bio-mechanical components with native biodata, usually to produce creatures that can be used as guardians or as transport. One successful side-project created cybrid horses- "cybrorses" as they were rather unimaginatively named, which were blended during their gestation with biodata which gifted the creatures with the ability - when guided by a skilled operator - to move through time and space on a limited scale.
The hounds were created originally as watchdogs, and they were gifted with extraordinary precognitive senses. But the hunting packs are a different breed altogether. They are capable of sensing the timeline of any creature whose trail they are put upon, and can track their prey along that timeline if required. Lymers are hounds created to track a quarry, brachets run it to ground, and the massive alaunts are capable of tearing its timeline out of existence one it has been brought to bay. Several packs still exist, and it was not unknown for the dragonborn to ride to the hunt, mounted on cybrorses, following a large pack of these massive white coated, red eyed beasts. In later years, the Hunt was largely limited to the forests of Breceliande, where the Lord of Summer took on the mantle of Master of the Hunt, under the rule of Arawn, and later Eachtar of the Savage Forest. With the loss of Breceliande from the alliance, some vestigial hunts remain on other worlds, but the packs are nowhere near as sophisticated as those who perform the hunt proper.
