| Has published over one hundred short stories and novellas in most of the major science fiction magazines including Omni, Amazing, Fantastic, Isaac Asimov's, Analog, Galaxy, Twilight Zone, and Fantasy and Science Fiction. Has appeared in mainstream publications, original anthologies, and "best of the year" collections. A finalist on the Nebula Award ballot. In addition to science fiction and fantasy, has published articles in scientific journals and poetry in a variety of magazines. | |||||
| Besides writing, other employment includes seven years as a med tech in a shock-trauma unit, work in parasitology and veterinary medicine as a research scientist, field studies of whales in the Canadian Arctic, and three years as part of a research team investigating the greenhouse effect for the US Department of Agriculture, specializing in Expert Systems and the real-time applications of Artificial Intelligence control systems. Currently coordinates the production of a WWW Site and CD-ROM series containing over 4,000 documents pertaining to agriculture in the state of Florida. | |||||
| Education includes undergraduate studies in environmental engineering and biology at the University of Oklahoma and a degree in Life Science from Johns Hopkins University. | |||||
