LYN McCONCHIE
Lyn McConchie has been published in eight countries and three languages to date. Her short stories have won the Australian SF Foundation Medallion and a number of MUSE Medallions from the International Cat Writers Association for Best Short Fiction of the year. In 1997 she won both the MUSE and the JONNYCAT awards for her story "Death Song" in CATFANTASTIC IV. To date she has sold eighteen books, with fifteen published so far. Her Witch World collaboration with Andre Norton, THE KEY OF THE KEPLIAN, appeared from Warner in mid-1995 and was listed by the New York Public library as "one of the best books for teenagers for 1995." CIARA'S SONG was published in 1998 and made LOCUS' Best Seller list for September of that year. BEAST MASTER'S ARK was published by TOR in 2002 and won New Zealand's Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best SF/F Novel of that year. The next in the series, BEAST MASTER'S CIRCUS appeared in 2004, and a new Witch World book, THE DUKE'S BALLAD (sequel to CIARA'S SONG) is due out in January of 2005. Lyn has had five children's fantasy picture books published in New Zealand as well. She currently has two additional collaborations with Andre Norton under contract with Tor, BEAST MASTER'S QUEST and SILVER MAY TARNISH, the first book in a new WITCH WORLD series (scheduled for November 2005).
