Misty Thickets is just too good a zone to pass up, that's one problem with creating a "mule" character there. Just about the best newbie zone in the game, especially so for druids, who can harmony the goblin camps and solo pretty much everything in sight. And I love playing a druid, which as a class not only matches my own nature-loving ways, but is one of the easiest and most fun classes in the game. Before I knew it, Bittleaye was level 12 and ready to move on. She hung out in the Commonlands until she was 16, then moved to East Karana. She quickly reached level 19 and earned her first teleports. Just like Kytelae before her, she headed for Kunark and the Lake of Ill Omen. |
|
She stayed there until she reached level 26. The Lake zone is one of the best zones in the game, wide open with tons of roaming monsters to hunt. And it's gorgeous there to boot. The lake itself is sparkling blue, and and the first time you walk up and see the Windmill spinning, or realize how huge the Sarnak Fortress is, you have to catch your breath. |
|
But at 26, Bittleaye was ready for new adventures, and so she ran like the wolf she is, through the Frontier Mountains, through the Overthere, to Warslik's Woods where she discovered the Fort where the Forest Giants live. What a great spot! Giant-hunting is a lot of fun. |

Once Bittleaye reached level 30, she started wandering again. Up to Everfrost for some mammoth hunting, then back to Kunark learning the Frontier Mountain zone. Most recently she found herself back in Warslik's Woods, joining with some guildmates to explore the dungeon known as Dalnir. Recently Bittleaye reached level 34, an important level for a druid. She can port groups to Kunark and Velious now, and she celebrated by porting to the Dreadlands to stare at those gorgeous trees. She then returned to killing Mountain Giants and Burynai in the Frontier Mountains, where she remains, for now. |

Arkades is the last name I chose for my druids. The Arkadian people were known as "the people of the bear," and supposedly came to Paros Island, near Greece, in the 10th century B.C. They were believed to be descended from Arcas, child of Callisto and Zeus. Zeus placed Callisto and Arcas into the sky as Ursa Major and Minor. In mythology, Arcas was a shapeshifter, taking the form of the "bee-wolf", as bears were known. |
