                               NEWS

Ken Rand and Bruce Thatcher will be signing at the Barnes & Noble
in Sugarhouse (Salt Lake City) on Friday, Jan. 14, from 4-6 p.m. 
They both have stories in =Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Volume
2=, which is being released in mass-market paperback this month. 
Bruce is also in volume one of =Star Trek: Strange New Worlds=
(second place) and he's in =Writers of the Future, Volume 15=
(first place).

Bruce and Ken will also sign at the B. Dalton Bookstore in the
University Mall in Orem on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 2-4 p.m.

                            RUN AWAY!

A writer has to say, "I'm . . .one of 1,700 prose writers who was
stiffed by Northwest Publishing in Salt Lake City, UT."  This
sounds like a good publisher to stay away from!  Anyone have more
details?
