What we want: =Pulp Eternity Online=, like its print sister, will feature edge fiction that stretches genre boundaries, tackles controversial issues, and breaks new ground. We like cross-genre stories, sly, sexy, or cerebral humor, historical and/or exotic settings, ethnicity, alternative sexuality, sexy twists, hard or adventure SF, stories with a hint of mystery (especially cross- genre mysteries), speculative romance, historical fantasy, dark fantasy, modern horror, strong female protagonists, exploratory fiction that defies genre boundaries, feminist SF/F/H, controversial pieces, and stories that other genre publications are afraid to publish. What we don't want: No underage sex, child molestation/abuse, bestiality, incest, or suicide stories. Our creed: 1. I don't know what I like until I like it. 2. If it fits nowhere else, it's probably an Eternity story. 3. If you can think of a better market first, it's probably not an Eternity story. Hints: 1. We dislike white-bread characters. The white-male-superhero- as-savior theme is tired and boring. 2. Define your setting. Suburban Midwest as a setting does not appeal to us. Be specific and do your research. I want to know when and where your story takes place. Fictional settings are fine, but a much tougher sell. 3. We do accept S&S and traditional fantasy, but get more of this than all other story types confined. Please make sure your story has a unique twist. 4. In the same vain, common themes such as dragons, vampires, unicorns, serial killers, alien invasions, etc. are fine if you have a unique twist. 5. Your story must have a beginning, a middle, and an end, plus conflict and resolution. The protagonist must be active and solve his own problems. We also expect your main character to change or inspire change in others or society. If he does both, all the better. 6. No vignettes. 7. If you don't send it in, I can't accept it. Don't reject your own stories. 8. Please don't send stories in before January 15, 2000, or they will be returned unread.
