Karawynn Long has published an assortment of short fiction and poetry in the science fiction and fantasy genres. She won the Writers of the Future Grand Prize in 1992; in 1996 she made the preliminary Nebula ballot (novelette) and placed second in the Asimov's Readers' Poll (poetry).

Karawynn grew up in Austin, attended college in Chicago, and spent two and a half years in New York City before deciding that Seattle was home. In 1996 she took a two-year hiatus from writing in order to build up a second career as a web designer. She now works full time as an art director for an internet company while managing intermittent progress on her first novel, which might conceivably be finished sometime in the year 2000.

Karawynn maintains an extensive personal web site elsewhere and can be reached by email at karawynn@sff.net.
