Twelfth Night Revel (Jan 1978) Shire of Cwm Maethlon Newsletters
|
For the Shire of am Mor Salann Fasach's first birthday tourney, we were graced with the presence of not only the Prince and Princess of the Outlands, Heinrich and Lorene, but also the King and Queen of Atenveldt, Koris and Leah. Not bad for a shire that was only a year old!
Thanks to Outlands Chronicler Kathryn of Iveragh and the Outlandish Herald, this account of the event is available. It's from the May, A.S. XIII issue of the Outlandish Herald. The account was written by Michael Gerard Curtmemoire.
Sir Mika Longbow won the tourney and became Champion of the Great Salt Waste. Robert de Spencer became the first Conqueror of the Great Brine Shrimp. At court on the evening of March 11th, Robert de Spencer and Ferelith MacDonald were given Awards of Arms. The first ever awarding of the Galloglass, a symbol of service to the shire, went to its namesake, Gallowglass.
Thanks for the photograph to Sir Michael the Lucky of Lancaster. |
