Ideas For Arms

We all did gather on the 15th of July for the Storming of Storm Mountain. The day was started with a delicious breakfast cooked by Lady Leah de Spencer. Then the day proceeded with melees. A melee here; a melee there; and a few melees in the bushes. The scavenger hunt had people roaming the hills and digging in garbage cans. ("What's a dragon fewmet?")

Fighters gathering.
Mika, who? Cormak, Thorad, who?
Fighters gathering. Those I know for sure are Sir Robert de Spencer, middle back, and Sir Mika Longbow, far right. Sir Mika and Sir Robert.
Cormak and Mika
Left to right, Sir Mika Longbow, not sure, Cormak na Gunn, Thorad Bjorgsson, and not sure. ("We're off to see the Wizard. . . ?") Cormak na Gunn (Cormak macGuinn) fighting Sir Mika Longbow.

Robert and who?
Far left, Thorad son of Bjorg (Thorad Bjorgsson). The mundanes in the background are watching in bemusement; this was held in a public campground. Sir Robert de Spencer fighting who? Note the really fine carpet armor.

The Axe of Chivalry contest began in the afternoon and we had a few really interesting entries. (They ranged from Goniff reciting from a play, Mika's delightful puppet show to tall tales to Cormak blazoning his device.) Then more melees, dinner in the evening and the rest of the entries. The ladies were also vying for an award by displaying their talents in the Arts.

At the end of the day it was announced that the Axe of Chivalry would go to Zelph (for his story and song) and that the winner of the Ladies List was Katlin of Erynfel (for her rose paste beads and story). Sir Mika, Lord Longbow was given a scroll as being the Meanest Mother by virtue of being the last man alive on the field in the Meanest Mother Melee. Everyone won the scavenger hunt because of the creative explanations given to justify the validity of the objects presented. ("It is so a dragon fewmet!") The favor made of objects found at the site was won by Lady Ferelith MacDonald. Because of the departure of Kathryn of Land's End, the List of Grace was judged again and the winner was Briony of Windermere.

At the end of the long, tiring but fun day, everyone gathered up their sunburned bodies and scattered possessions and went home to the welcome thought of a warm bath.
