RECENT NEWS:
6/1/03 For the second year in a row , I'm a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for best new writer. The winner will be announced at the Hugo Awards at the World Science Fiction Convention in August. In other news, my short story Flight Correction has been reprinted in Year's Best SF #8, edited by David Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer. And my best short story yet, "Aloha", is currently in the June 2003 issue of Analog. A review of "Aloha" can be found here.
4/14/03 My latest publication is "The Monopole Affair", a novelette in the May Analog. My name even made the cover this time.
12/01/02 My first collaborative story, "Mixed Signals" (written with Lori Ann White) is now in the January 2003 issue of Analog. Also, the Alien Online has posted an extensive interview with me on their site.
9/7/02 Congratulations to Jo Walton for winning the John W. Campbell Award! (I have one more year of eligibility, so hopefully I'll get another chance next year.) I've updated the DIVINE INTERVENTION page with more reviews, and have added a link to my recent science-humor paper in the Annals of Improbable Research.
4/2/02 DIVINE INTERVENTION has been awarded the Special Citation (i.e. runner-up) for the 2001 Philip K. Dick Award. Congratulations to the winner, Richard Paul Russo, and to all of the other finalists.
In the fiction sections you can find some of my published and unpublished short fiction, including one novelette (originally published in The Leading Edge #39, Spring 2000) that's been extensively hyperlinked so you can read about the real science that it's based on.
(And here's the requisite page about me.)
