I had just turned 30, was recently divorced, and looking for a new direction for my life. And I found it. I took off in April of 1992. I started in London, where I took a month long class learning how to teach English as a foreign language.
Then I worked as a site supervisor at an archaeological dig in Yorkshire.
From England, I went to Italy and traveled for a month.
My next major stop was Budapest. Ah - city of my heart! I fell in love with Budapest. It's so alive.
I lived in Hungary for 8 months. Most of the time I lived with a Hungarian family. They were (are!) wonderful. The Big Trip continues here.
