Biography

The Power of Preserving Pictures

Will be published in an anthology called "Dark Arts," edited by John Pelan, produced by the Horror Writers of America (HWA.) Here's the description from the call for submissions:

From the grimmest of the Greek tragedies to contemporary death metal, the horror has held a fascination with artistes. This anthology will present stories that are in some way connected to the Arts or the creation of a work (or works) of Art.

Consider: The Grand Guignol Theatre - The poems of Baudelaire and Poe - The paintings of Francisco Goya - The eerie compositions of Iannis Xenakis - The disturbing photography of Diane Arbus - The dark sounds of The Protagonist or Coph Nia - The films of Karloff, Lugosi, and Chaney.

The possibilities are as endless as man's capacity for artistic expression. Stories dealing with fictitious works of art or its creation are also welcome.

Obsessions

Will be published in an anthology called "In the Shadow of the Wall", edited by Byron Tetrick. It's a collection of short stories about the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial (the wall) in DC.

Red Boots

Was published in an anthology called "Black Heart, Ivory Bones", edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling. The anthology is a collection of fairy tales, written in a modern vein. The story is a retelling of "The Red Shoes," only 'cause she's a country-western dancer, it's the "Red Boots."

Gulkanam

Was published in "Talebones" issue #16. It's based on my favorite Kashmiri folk tale.
