Hi, I'm Lucy ... thanks for visiting my little corner of the Web! My short story "Magdala Amygdala" won the Bram Stoker Award for short fiction in 2013. I'm also the author of a series of novels from Del Rey:

  · Spellbent
  · Shotgun Sorceress
  · Switchblade Goddess

You can find more stories about the characters in Spellbent in my new collection Orchid Carousals. My poetry collection Chimeric Machines was released in March 2009; in March 2010, it won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Poetry.

I'm also the author of Sparks and Shadows, which won the 2008 Editors' Choice Black Quill Award for Best Dark Genre Collection. My humor collection Installing Linux on a Dead Badger came out in October 2007.

I'm a graduate of the Clarion workshop and for several years I've directed the Context Writing Workshops. Since January 2010, I've been an adjunct faculty member in Seton Hill University's MFA program in Writing Popular Fiction.

I write a column for Horror World on science and technology for writers. To date, I've made over 100 short fiction sales, over 60 poetry sales, and I've sold a bunch of nonfiction on topics ranging from faeries to medicinal botany to ethernet switches. (Why the focus on sales?) If you'd like to see my entire list of publications, see my bibliography.

If you'd like to read some of my work online or download some free short e-books, visit the Reading Room.

I live in Worthington, Ohio with my husband, Gary A. Braunbeck; we've written several stories together. If you'd like to know more, take a look at my biography or read through some of my interviews.
