Last year's book 101 Greatest Baby Boomer Toys was more or less an invisible disaster. After I turned in the book I was presented with an "edited" version, without having been given a marked/highlighted version of edits. The edits were by no means good, and bad enough to make me request the acknowledgements and dedication be removed, as well as photographs that showed me as a child. I did not feel it was my book any longer, although I figured that since it was on its way into print I would go ahead and do publicity for it.
The publisher, Krause, then published it without my name on the cover. I had not requested this. Nevertheless it saved me considerable time and effort that would have gone into media interviews. For the original version of the book I did in excess of seventy radio interviews. (Posted, at last, 10 Feb. 06)
