Notes

Rhysling nomination: Drew Morse, chair of the 2006 Rhysling Poetry Awards, notified me on Feb. 23 that "Cargoes of Immensity" has been nominated in the long-poem category for the award. This will mean publication in the 2006 Rhysling Anthology, a chapbook published by the Science Fiction Poetry Association. (Posted 27 Feb. 06.)

SpinDrifter:   Jean Paul Jenack has done me quite the favor, not only publishing a sizeable group of poems in his Spindrifter: The Island Literary Journal in his Summer 2005 issue, but also writing an introduction about me and my work in the small press. He even uses the photograph formerly featured on this website, of me playing with a "Sputnik" toy from the 1950s.
There are not that many editors who would know about those early magazines I founded or helped found. Besides The Magazine of Speculative Poetry, there were The Silent Planet and Treaders of Starlight. The latter was subtitled "The Magazine of Speculative Poetry."
Single-issue price is $6.50 for this truly interesting little. Write to dpi press, inc., P.O.Box 3563, Placida, Fla. 33946. (Posted, finally, 9 Feb. 06.)
