Resto-Rod Project

OUR NEWEST AUTOMOTIVE PROJECT is a 1972 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon. As in, giant boatlike land yacht from the end of the musclecar era.

"Uh, why?" is probably your first question. I say, "Hey, how cool is it to have a machine that can carry several taiko drums (for my wife, author Kij Johnson's, taiko-drumming group) and serve as a hot-rod, too?" I say, "Cool!"

My plan is to overhaul the engine to make a bit more power (oh yeah); mount some big, sexy wheels; restore it a bit so it's not quite so ugly; repair the rusted rear fenders and weld in new metal; and replace that horrid fake-wood paneling with paint. I'll add more pages as the project progresses.
