ConQuesT 34 - KC 2003
I supported Kansas City's bid for WorldCon '06!
ConQuesT 34 began Friday evening, May 23rd, 2003. I
wasn't there. I was home sleeping while Meisha
Merlin threw the Party of Parties!! Or maybe it wasn't. I don't know. As I
said, I was home sleeping.
My son John/temujin and I arrived the next morning.
Things had quieted down by then and people were ready to settle down and get
to the business of the convention... which was getting ready for more parties!
Actually, there was a good line-up of panels to go to and lots of other things
to do. ConQuesT is a mature convention and always has good freebee tables, a
great dealer's room, an art exhibit and lots of things to do.
ConQuesT, put on each year by the KANSAS CITY SCIENCE
FICTION and FANTASY SOCIETY, Inc. also has a charity auction that benefits the
Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, and with such luminaries as
AUTHOR GOH ELIZABETH MOON,
TOASTMASTER ELLEN DATLOW
ARTIST GOH VINCENT Di FATE
and FAN GOH SUZANNE CARNIVAL-REECE
Learning stuff and having fun were the orders of the day... and night. And
there was Belly Dancing! How could we go wrong?
