The things that happen when you're not looking! All three of my Five Countries novels have been released for the Amazon Kindle. The Kindle is the first dedicated eBook reader that really has legs, and people have been so interested in it that as of this writing it's temporarily sold out. I'm delighted to be among the first 2000 fantasy titles offered.
Don't have a Kindle? Chasing Fire is available as an eBook in Adobe, Mobipocket, and other formats, from Diesel eBooks. The folks at Diesel were kind enough to issue a 20% off coupon for Chasing Fire, good until May 20, 2008. Just enter the code WELC70566 at checkout. We hope to get the other two volumes available soon.

Chasing Fire Bantam Spectra, October 2005.
An old man bound by dreams of his lost era and a young man caught in a deadly political game find themselves brought together by a strange magic worker, as they battle an ancient conspiracy to find a cure for the plague. |
The novels are set in the Five Countries, a created world with a long history and a range of cultures, where magic is hidden and gunpowder rules. The setting is reminiscent of 17th-century Europe.
The world has its origins in a project begun with a high school friend in 1986. After years of development, I established the histories and timeline of the Five Countries.
