Other works: Society for Creative Anachronism

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an educational organization that recreates the Middle Ages and Renaissance. There are SCA groups worldwide, with members that research and participate in arts and sciences from the years 600 to 1600, such as costuming, fighting styles, music, and writing.

Most of the material I've written for the SCA was created for Arts and Sciences competitions, annual events where artisans submit their works for judging and display to other members. "The Poet" is an example of this type of work, which I wrote in the style of a 16th-century sonnet sequence. Included in this link is the documentation I wrote to support my entry (artists who participate in the competition must provide evidence that their work is historically accurate). "The Poet" won first place in the Kingdom of Atenveldt Arts and Sciences Competition in 2000.

On a less formal note, I have also written short fiction for a more casual audience, which has been published in the newsletter of my local SCA group. This section of "The History of Jonete Malisoun" is a lighter presentation of information about the period I've studied.
