It's over. They've all gone home. Charles de Lint was wonderful. I'm tired and I miss them all and I've got a cold. More later when I can breathe and think again.

I've started China Miéville's new book, Iron Council, and heard him read from it on Friday.

My Dear Clarion West Shadow Workshop Write-a-thon sponsors:
This was the sixth and last week of the write-a-thon.
The Clarion West workshop ended this week, and all the students have gone home. We packed up on Saturday, moved out of the house, and had our summing-up board meeting this afternoon. I did finish my chapter this week, barely, just a couple of hours ago. I'm lucky it is a shorter one, as not only am I physically exhausted from packing up and moving out of the house where we held the workshop, but I miss everyone, and to top it off I've got a cold and not much brain. But I'm done.
I can hardly believe it. If it wasn't for knowing that you might be out there curious to know if I had pulled it off, I probably would have let it slide this week since I was so busy with wrapping the workshop up -- so thank you so much for your support. It means more than I can say, and has helped me to realize that I can write if I really want to, even in the craziest part of my year. And you know, not only did I get to the end of my sixth chapter, but early in the week I sent out a requested poetry submission to an anthology and tidied up and sent out a story. I rock!
Now that I'm done and the write-a-thon is over, I plan to keep on going till the novel revision is done. I hope to start sending the novel out in the new year if not before.
Thanks again for your support of me and of Clarion West. Please make out payment for your pledge to Clarion West but send it to me so I can keep track. Many, many thanks!
