It turned out that Tor itself had another novel with the title
"Glass Houses" in print.  So the novel-formerly-known-as-
"Glass Houses" was published by Tor in November 1999 GREENHOUSE SUMMER.
     THE VOID CAPTAIN'S TALE and CHILD OF FORTUNE, while they share no characters,
settings,  or story, are set in the same far-future mulltilingual universe.
