Putting the teeth in justice

Read the story that introduced Addison Thorne to the world!

Or read the opening chapter to Thorne

"I really liked this book. Thorne is a complex character and not at all the stereotypical vampire who goes around killing just for bloodlust. He sought justice and showed compassion to those who deserved it. His relationship with Bambi was both funny and poignant. In the end, he protected her and even put his own life on the line for her. ...I'd like to see a Thorne II book at some point." Carol Guy

THORNE, Patrick Welch, Twilight Times Books, 140 pages, ISBN:, reviewed by Barry Hunter. Addison Thorne is a paladin for The Kind – the Vampire race. In this case, vampires are born that way and not converted by the sharing of blood. Each vampire maintains a “herd” of humans to use as food when needed and they maintain a psychic link to allow them to aid them if they are endangered. Thorne’s job is to take out any rogue vampires who do not belong to the The Kind or bring suspicions on their existence. While Thorne is taking out a rogue, a co-worker is murdered and he becomes a suspect when his alibi doesn’t hold up. He seeks to find the killer but is warned by Flanagan – his Kind contact - to let it go and leave town. He seeks aid from Bambi Gorman to hack into the police computer and they become lovers. There is plenty of action and new vampire lore in this adventure with Thorne seeking out the killer as Flanagan tries to get him out of the way even if it means killing Thorne and Bambi. Welch has written another terrific and exciting novel while taking a different look at the Vampire myth. Hopefully, this is only the first adventure with Addison Thorne, he deserves more attention.
