Wow -- it's been too long since I posted an entry! So I've decided to catch up and get back on track by showing you two slightly older finished objects. First up:

It's a finished pair of WisCon 30 socks! These actually did get completed during Socktoberfest, but I kept forgetting to get a picture of the matched set! They are done in garter rib, and the fit is excellent. As you can see, one sock is slightly lighter in color than the other; this is due to some dye variations in the skein. Still, they came out well, and it was worth frogging the first one completely, because they are so much more snug this time around.
Earlier today, I was digging through part of my yarn stash, and I pulled out a bag containing some of the yarn I had dyed with Kool-Aid a few summers back -- and look what I found in the bag with the yarn!

It's a fully completed Jaywalker! I had forgotten that I finished this one. I'm hoping to knit its mate throughout this weekend, since I'm going to be doing a lot of sitting around. On Saturday, I'm going to the Best Pictures Showcase at the theater in Newport to prep for Oscar night. And the Oscars are, of course on Sunday evening. (Fittingly enough, we are starting the weekend off with a bang by seeing Ghost Rider tomorrow night -- but then, I never really claimed to have good taste.)
The other knitting is going well... the afghan squares are coming along slowly but surely, and I'm working the raglan increases on my Eris pullover. I'm also storing up ideas for a few little sewing projects.
And now that we've started talking about buying a house, I've gotten all day-dreamy about home decor, and home projects, and yaddayaddayadda... there is so much great inspiration out there (the blog links on the right have expanded, as a result of all this browsing!). It's an exciting time, even though we're just at the very beginning of it.
