If the eyes are windows to one's soul, what then I wonder do the hands show. I knew a potter with one hand, who threw a better pot with that one hand than he had with two. I knew a woman with no hands, whose penmanship was was absolutely beautiful. I watched an interpreter for the deaf sign a story and found this language so expressive I saw things in the story I had never heard before. I have watched the hand of a painter with his brush strapped on because he could not otherwise hold it, and beheld a master at work. I have raised my arms and spread my fingers to give a benediction and felt the power that is in all things flow through me. Hands the pathway of the spirit.
