I passed my banquet ticket along to the Meseroles so I could join the group (Roger, Dave, Nancy, and the Jamisons) going to diner at the nearby Rib Eye restaurant. The restaurant has good service and food, though the entries are limited to rib eye, chicken, shrimp, or combinations of the same. We were silly, loud and had a great time. Belinda liked my pina colada enough to get one of her own and was very relaxed for the rest of the evening.
Back at the hotel, we settled into Nancy's room and along with other Dpers (Tina Black, Don Mull, Jenny Overkamp and family) and Kara (a friend of Star) talked until nearly 3AM.
Sunday, we were on the road around noon, after hugging and saying goodbye to dear friends and headed back to Bloomington to visit the Tucker mansion. I finally got to meet Fern, who was warm and made us feel welcome, and Bob's youngest son, Dave, who had also flown into town.
Then back to the airport (where the plane was not ready) and in the
air coming back by 3:30PM. We had been watch for poor weather, but it turned
out well, though we were above low cloud for much of the ride back. It
was fun seeing KC from the air at dusk.
