The Grail Of Hearts
February 1992 Tor Books. Published in 1989
In a redaction of Wagner's Parsifal, Kundry, victim and apostate,
falls into the control of the wizard-eunuch Klingsor. After laughing
in anguished hysteria at the Crucifixion, she is condemned to wander
the world until she and the Fisher King whose fall she caused can
be redeemed by the Fool Made Wise Through Pity.
Kundry, dramatic heroine of Wagner's Parsifal, tells how she laughed
at the Crucifixion and wandered until a Fool made wise by pity could
heal her and bring fertility to the wasted forest of Broceliande.
