A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste

I get it!
I've always thought the energy poured into conspiracy theories was wasted.
I mean, there's an awful lot of them out there, and behind each one there's a bunch of intelligent, creative people who--if they hadn't gotten the conspiracy bug up their asses--could be doing something more constructive with their time and energy.
And we really aren't as stupid as TV and Darwin Awards make us look. So the truth must be that there is no government conspiracy or cover-up. Instead, it's the saucer folk behind it all. They say there's a coverup, and of course since the government has no evidence to reveal, it looks like one.
But government incompetence makes it impossible for a genuine coverup to last. It just doesn't happen!
So it's an alien plot to make us spin our wheels and go nowhere fast. That way we don't go somewhere--into space, where we could be a problem for the guys with the funny heads.
