EEEEEK.  You should've untethered the scooter before firing the rocket engine!  The scooter violently gyrates under you then one tether breaks with a snap you feel through the scooter's saddle.  Your thrust whips you around and slams you into the hull wall of the police station.  No more adventuring for you.  It's is difficult for red paste to adventure trapped inside a crumpled space scooter.
