NEWSFLASH!
First, I must share the beauty below (click for larger version):
Yes, this is the finished front cover for my collection Salt of the Air. It really is one of my top two favorite covers for my books. Just possibly it may be my favorite. The delicate, surreal, decadent beauty takes my breath away. Artwork is by A.R. Menne (whose website seems to be down) and design is by Garry Nurrish. The complete wraparound jacket is not done yet, but soon!
In other news, we are drowning in construction hell here. It has gotten to the point where I am just trying to survive emotionally, and the worst is yet to come -- the kitchen and laundry area construction, and the dwindling money, and... the refinance that is supposed to pay me back all the equity I am using to reconstruct this house. *whimper* Just today I went to Sears and bought (on my Sears credit card with 0% financing for a year) kitchen appliances -- a new oven and range, dishwasher, hood microwave, garbage disposal, and priced a refrigerator. Scary shit to the tune of money flowing away....
Writing is going very slowly. You try writing when your mind is going insane with worry, and your health sucks and you are on the edge.... Anyway, whining aside, I need to finish that one story and turn it in so that the collection can go to press already. I already turned in all the final edits of the other stories, just this one thing needs to go in.
However I did get this one crazy idea for another novel. Not going to say more about it just yet, but it may be something very edgy and hot....
