NEWSFLASH!

Another monthly summary -- I know it's annoying but these days it seems it's all I have time for...

August was officially an insane horrid stressful but also positive month. What else is new, you might say, but trust me, there were new degrees of "insane, horrid and stressful and yet positive" this month which -- anyway, enough.

Mom's medical situation is still dragging, her chemo is going into overtime just because the oncologists feel she needs those extra weeks despite the fact that the CT scan came out completely clean. Anyway, that's not a problem so much as that her hernia has developed into a monstrosity. As soon as chemo is over in early September, she goes in to be operated for the hernia, so that they can basically put her intestines back in place. Her abdomen looks like a drum....

A Little Peace and Quiet by Modean Moon, in a gorgeous hardcover edition, is available now. You seriously want this book, trust me, it is amazing... :-)

In the good news department, I think my story "The Story of Love" from Best New Romantic Fantasy 2 made the 2007 Preliminary Nebula Awards® Ballot. I am told, but of course can't say this for sure until the updated NAR comes out. :-)

Meanwhile I have received Fictionwise Royalties (2Q, 2007, 8-24-07) and Wildside Rress Royalties (Spring 2007, 8-27-07), a nice three figure amount.

Some neat advance review sightings of Marion Zimmer Bradley's Sword and Sorceress XXII can be seen here (Rich Horton) and here (Heidi Martinuzzi's "Pretty Scary"). The official release date of the anthology is November 15, 2007, so stay tuned for more, folks! :-)

August 2007 marks the first anniversary of Norilana Books. As of this moment Norilana Books has 103 titles in print. Yup, we've made it over 100, and counting! And boy have we got a great lineup of forthcoming titles, with only some of them announced as yet! Things are just revving up! *grin*

Coming in September, among many other things, the continuation of our reprint series of wonderful novels by Modean Moon, including the trade paperback edition of A Litle Peace and Quiet and the hardcover release of The Covenant, another intense, suspenseful love story, this one drawing once more upon the Native American Choctaw Nation roots, and an ancient vendetta bound with a timeless love in fictional Pitchlyn County. I will never get tired of saying how proud and excited I am about the latest cover jacket for the Modean Moon titles, some of my favorite ones ever.

Also coming in September is the trade paperback edition of Senrid by Sherwood Smith from YA Angst!
