NEWSFLASH!

Much news today...

I now have my own domain, hosted by SFF Net: veranazarian.com

It is definitely under contruction, and quite rudimentary at this point, and eventually it will become "the official Vera Nazarian website." However, I have no plans to get rid of this page, so don't worry. This is still going to be my fun and games place, while the other would be more formal business, and would have a link to this place.

I wrote absolutely nothing all weekend.

However, I did two very important related things:

Item 1) I compiled all my written stories into one RTF document, and sent it off (minus the two incomplete ones, with place holders to mark their future place) to the editor to look at, and

Item 2) I worked on the cover art for my collection. Here is the artwork that the cover is based on, and here is a preliminary mockup of the actual cover. The final cover will be much better and a bit different from this in terms of design. But the flavor should remain.

The collection is now nearly 84,000 words, by the way. Now I just have to write two more stories, since I had finished "Gods And Fleas."

It's nearing the end, but lord am I tired....

Finally, a new previously unpublished science fiction story of mine is up on Bookface.com this week. It is called "A Time To Crawl," and it deals with the plight of the elderly in the near future -- all public aid such as Social Security and Welfare has been abolished, and you have to get to Work no matter if you are old or sick... even if it means that you have to Crawl to get there!

NEWSFLASH!

My collection DREAMS OF THE COMPASS ROSE is now over 80,000 words! If it weren't for the crazy US presidential election deadlock, with the whole country and all of Congress basically thrown into a General Protection Fault (to borrow a friend's description), or basically displaying a Red, White, and Blue Screen of Death (to borrow from Microsoft)... no wonder I couldn't get this done any sooner!

Hmm, maybe it's all my fault, that this was my first time voting as a US Citizen? I cast a vote and there goes the whole system. Criminy!

In any case, hurry up, Florida, put us out of our misery, will yah? My advice to Bush and Gore is just to let Hillary Rodham Clinton become president, and that dead guy's widow from Missouri can be her running mate.

Oh yeah, and I did change my journal picture. Got sick of the old one. May change pics more frequently now.

NEWSFLASH!

At this point I have over 75,000 words written of my collection DREAMS OF THE COMPASS ROSE, but I am still not done! I went to WFC and that sorta interrupted my intense momentum. I am now off-kilter and need to regain the drive that will let me finish the three remaining Compass Rose Stories.

Incidentally, WFC was a total relaxacon, a wonderful, silly time. :-) I will not say much, but just to give you a flavor, here is a picture of me sitting next to one of my best friends Fiona Avery, and talking to Paul Witcover, at the Mass Autographing Session, taken by Terry McGarry.

Now, back to work!
