NEWSFLASH!
Today is the one year anniversary of the death of Marion Zimmer Bradley.
Seems like a mere blink of an eye has passed. Or an eon....
Read my Personal Tribute to Marion Zimmer Bradley here on Bookface.com.
Listen to my song dedicated to her, "Marion."
Raise a virtual glass to toast Marion, light a candle, and take a moment of silence.

NEWSFLASH!
It's been over a week, and I am still coughing on and off, and not really up to speed.
You may have noticed I "cleaned-up" the Not-A-Webring page a bit, removing the "on-hiatus" people. If you're one of the removed folks, relax. When you're ready to come back, just let me know, and I will reinstate you. :-)
I have been infernally busy -- what else is new, but this time I have a stone-hard deadline of October 15 to finish writing 5 stories for my collection DREAMS OF THE COMPASS ROSE. So if you see me fooling around anywhere before that time, just tell me to get back to work, ok?
In the NAW -- Congratulations to our A.L. Sirois for a great review of his work, in Analog, and to Zette for discovering the review! :-)
Congratulations to Mary Soon Lee for her sale to On Spec, to John Sullivan for asking Elisa to marry him, to Tamela for her sale to the new online pro publication Strange Horizons, and best of luck to Toby who is even now here in Los Angeles, taking the WotF workshop.
Talking about newly engaged John -- read his very thoughtful essay on the nature of perception here. I agree, and I think he says it best.
More congratulations to Erin Cashier Denton whose story "Remembrance" is doing so well up on Bookface.com -- for days it's been #1 in the Top 10 Fantasy Section, and it is up in the Site Top 10 also. :-)

NEWSFLASH!
I am back from Chicon 2000.
I am sneezing, my throat is parchment, and my ears are plugged. I am down with Con Crud from working my ass off on nearly zero sleep, and not even venturing outside the SFF Net party suite to see any of the con, never having seen the dealers room, the art show, the Hugos, or the streets of Chicago, all because there were not enough volunteers to help with the SFF Net parties.
Oh, and the Hyatt Regency Chicago SUCKS. It is the worst hotel I've ever dealt with. They even made me miss my plane. I will detail this in my newsgroup later...
Yes, there were some good points, like seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and being in the SFWA Musketeers stage show and fencing demo. But the bad shit just seemed to overwhelm the good shit.
More later -- for now, I am getting back in bed, and will be calling in sick at work tomorrow.
